Barb & John Tesser and Carol & Terry Howard are Higher Ground, a group made-up by the blending of two family bands. With four part harmonies and traditional accoustic instrumentation they bring a fun and lively presentation to their all gospel repertoire. Sometimes adding premier sidemen Max Winkels, Royce Sorenson or George Cordwell to the mix brings even more flavor to large venue events.
With a joyful mix of the old and the new; the familiar and best-loved hymns often sung by their parents and grandparents, as well as some of the more modern bluegrass gospel music.
The group’s desire is to sing and praise God whenever and wherever they are given the opportunity; at gospel music festivals, nursing homes, churches and camp meetings. They’ve even been known to perform at a church picnic for some real “preachin’, prayin’, singin’ and dinner on the ground!” Wherever they sing, their prayer is that their deep love of the Lord is evident-in the songs they choose and the testimonies they share.
